Why are Forums and Strategic Projects both necessary?

To be clear about the difference between Forums and Strategic Projects, the most important differentiator is “immediacy”. Forums are meant to deal in a responsive manner with issues as they arise and are open to all Corporate and Supporter members.

Strategic Projects have a longer term view and although all members can weigh in on selecting projects to be implemented each year, they require additional funding and those companies willing to financially support a project are able to sit on the advisory committee as an Influencer.

In both cases, any steps taken by CanSIA on behalf of a Forum or a Strategic Project must be approved by CanSIA’s President and CEO.
