This manual has been developed both for people currently involved in the installation of photovoltaic systems in Canada, and for electrical inspectors who may not be familiar with the specific characteristics of PV components and systems. Based on the nineteenth edition of the "Canadian Electrical Code Part 1", this document specifically identifies all rules pertaining to photovoltaics, and assists in interpreting them from the point of view of DC and PV systems. The reader should also have a copy of the nineteenth edition of the "CEC Part 1" in order to read the full text of each Rule.
