50% Accelerated Capital Cost Allowance for Clean Energy Generation
A 50% accelerated CCA is provided under Class 43.2 of Schedule II to the Income Tax Regulations for specified clean energy generation equipment. Eligible equipment includes solar thermal, solar air and solar photovoltaic equipment while project size restrictions have been eliminated. Class 43.2 was introduced in 2005 and is currently available for assets acquired on or after February 23, 2005 and before 2012.

Ontario – Next Generation Jobs Fund
The Next Generation of Jobs Fund is a five-year, $1.15 billion strategy to help innovative companies grow and create well-paying sustainable jobs for today's workforce and for the next generation of Ontario's highly skilled workers. The world needs green products, efficient technologies, health cures and treatments. Ontario has strengths in these areas. Ontario can create these jobs here at home and the Next Generation of Jobs Fund will help to do this.
Ontario’s Next Generation of Jobs Fund will fund companies that make everything from car parts to green technology products to Academy Award-winning special effects technologies.
The Next Generation of Jobs Fund will support companies or privately-led initiatives that will achieve one or more of the following:
- Secure new knowledge-based jobs and investment in Ontario
- Build Ontario’s strengths in sectors where the province is, or has the potential to be, a global leader
- Support the growth and success of value-added businesses through the development and expansion of their global markets and export
- Support private-public partnerships that will build Ontario’s expertise for innovation and commercialization
- Support Ontario’s Go Green Plan by reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions
- Improve Ontario's reputation as a globally competitive jurisdiction that can compete and win international investment.

Ontario – Advanced Manufacturing Investment Strategy (AMIS)
To help manufacturers become more innovative and competitive, the Ontario government created the Advanced Manufacturing Investment Strategy (AMIS). It’s a $500 million program to encourage companies to invest in leading-edge technologies and processes.
AMIS is open to all manufacturing sectors. Companies that are planning to invest in advanced manufacturing projects in Ontario are eligible to apply.
AMIS focuses on:
- industrial R&D
- design, prototyping and engineering
- new or advanced materials and products
- advanced manufacturing processes
- technology innovation
- robotics/software development
- waste reduction or energy conservation
- centres of excellence

British Columbia – Innovation Clean Energy (ICE) Fund
The Innovative Clean Energy Fund was created in 2007 to encourage the development of new sources of clean energy and technologies to help support local economies and livelihoods in communities across B.C.
The ICE Fund:
- Addresses energy and environmental priorities identified by government
- Showcases technologies that solve problems in B.C. and other jurisdictions and that have international market potential
- Supports “pre-commercial” energy technology or commercial technologies not currently used in B.C., and
- Demonstrates the commercial viability of new energy technologies.
