The Company

Nelumbo is a well established European based developer and installer of photovoltaic and thermal solar systems that has recently expanded to Ontario.  We deliver turnkey solar power systems to the residential and industrial markets across Ontario.  We are looking for a Technical Sales Representative to join our growing business development team. 

Job Objective

Responsible for all sales activities from lead generation through close of sales.  The successful candidate will be able to develop and execute sales plans that focus on OPA microFIT and FIT installations. 

Responsibilities

  • Sales of PV solar systems under the OPA microFIT and FIT programs
  • Identifies sales opportunities in residential, commercial, institutional, industrial, and agricultural markets throughout Ontario
  • Attend site visits and perform initial site assessment and information-gathering details
  • Generate sales proposals and quotes
  • Maintain a database of qualified leads and accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities
  • Meet sales targets and quotas
  • Attend industry trade shows, fairs and conferences or other events to generate new sales leads
  • Assist in the creation of marketing and promotional materials
  • Maintain solar power industry and competitor knowledge
  • Assistance during installation process may be required occasionally
  • Other tasks as assigned by management

Geographical Territory: Ontario/GTA

Job Type: Full-time

Wage/Salary: Base salary plus incentives based on performance and experience

Qualifications: 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in sales, marketing, engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum three years technical sales experience in the solar power industry
  • Knowledge of the OPA microFIT and FIT permitting processes
  • Valid driver’s license with the willingness and ability to travel throughout Ontario
  • Excellent written, verbal, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Understanding of basic investment principles
  • Self-starter, self-motivated, ability to work as part of team or autonomously
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and CRM software
  • Flexible, occasional travel, evenings and weekends required
