Solar Energy Construction Technician

The core responsibility of this position is to play a key role in the on-site installation work on a project to project basis, in the Renewable Sector with a focus on Solar Thermal and Solar PV.
- Carry out duties within scope of work/ work schedules assigned by the Construction Manager in a logical, orderly and efficient manner.
- Carry out installation of racking systems, panels/modules with associated plumbing and electrical work.
- Complete required documents on installation completion. Provide originals to Solar Energy Assistant to file and track information on installed equipment for labour and manufacturer warranty purposes.
- Use appropriate tools to install solar energy systems in accordance with Manufacturer and Engineering design and specifications.
- Assist with the commissioning of solar energy systems.
- Provide the Project or Construction Manager with information required to complete and sign off on completion of Solar Energy installation.

- 3 to 5 years of experience in commercial or industrial construction site experience.
- Education in Renewable Energies an asset.
- WHMIS, Fall Arrest, CanSIA certification an asset.
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems an asset.
- Knowledge of and experience with natural gas systems an asset.
- Commitment to customer service, teamwork and professional conduct.
- Organized, self-sufficient, dynamic, responsible, astute and conscientious.
- Valid driver’s licence.
