Project Manager, Renewable Energy

Canadian Standards Association has an immediate opportunity for a Project Manager, Renewable Energy reporting to the Program Manager, Renewable Energy. In this challenging and rewarding role, you will interact with leading experts within industry, academia and government to develop leading edge standards. Helping to facilitate discussion and promote consensus amongst these leaders is a key part of your role. You will deal with government and industry experts as well as leading edge researchers, scientists and manufacturers.

The Renewable Energy team manages a diverse portfolio of world-class national and international standards and guides. Delivering standards that facilitate safety, design, quality and performance are at our core. This includes standards for wind energy, solar photovoltaic and solar thermal energy, marine and geothermal energy. Astute in learning and understanding these sectors, you will come to appreciate challenges of standards development as they touch on regulations and may have product or system certification implications.

You are someone who shows initiative, is motivated, resilient and flexible. Detail and process orientation is important. You work well with people at all levels and, with divergent interests. You have strong computer skills.

Drawing on your strong business-sense, exceptional facilitation and negotiation skills, as well as a passion for sustainability issues, and track record in one or more industrial sectors, you will manage a portfolio of CSA standards development projects. Initially, your work will focus on
support for technical committees, as well as some business development activities. Some
domestic travel will be necessary.
