Position Profile

The role of the Junior Designer is to assist in the completion of photovoltaic project designs while providing hands on experience to design and construction department. 

We are seeking an experienced junior designer who is looking to move into solar PV design while utilizing their experience and knowledge in the design department. It is anticipated that this individual would spend 90% of their time in the office and 10% in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Draft / assist designers with mechanical & electrical drawings using AutoCAD
  • Draft basic site plans and building elevation drawings for building permit packages
  • Coordinate project details with structural & electrical engineers
  • Track design changes and coordinate completion of changes while working with a sense of urgency
  • Perform roof top site visits and document project details
  • Research local and national code requirements in project jurisdictions
  • Demonstrate ethics and professionalism at all times
Qualifications: 

Qualifications:

  • Strong design background & AutoCAD experience is required
  • Candidate must have basic understanding of mechanical systems
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate with other team members
  • Must be comfortable visiting job sites on a regular basis completing surveys
  • High attention to detail & knowledge of construction techniques
  • Effective written and oral communications skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Use standard office equipment such as personal computer, printers, copy machine, telephone, calculator, scanner, etc.
